Wallasey Beach also called New Brighton Beach is a popular bathing beach at the eastern end of the North Wirral Coastal Park and next to the Derby Pool Harvester Bar and Grill. The Lifeguard Station overlooks the sandy beach ‘recommended’ by the Marine Conservation Society. There are public toilets at Harrison Drive approximately 200 yards away. Popular with kitesurfers the beach is adjacent to a slightly more sheltered area of short grassland popular with picnickers. There is plenty of free parking adjacent to the beach at Bayview Road with an overflow car park opened during the summer months to cater for the large number of visitors. Alternatively there is free parking along Kings Parade off Harrison Drive.

New Brighton Beach, in the north-east corner of the Wirral peninsula offers an attractive 3/4-mile stretch of golden sand. In the summer months it is a popular destination for day-trippers.

From the beach there are striking views over the Liverpool city skyline. The beach is a good place to watch ships sailing out from the mouth of the Mersey estuary into the Irish Sea.

Beyond the marine lake is the 19th century Grade II listed Perch Rock Fort, once part of the sea-defences system. Beyond the fort is the picturesque Perch Rock lighthouse.

The seaside resort of New Brighton has been popular since the mid-19th century. It now features a £60 million leisure development – Marine Point, with shops, restaurants, theatre and cinema.

There have been occasional reports of walkers who walk far out on the wet sand at low tide getting into trouble with mud/quicksand. It is therefore best to stay close to the main beach area.
Children visiting the beach will enjoy playing around the Black Pearl, a community-built driftwood boat.
