Liverpool trophy parade

A rough night against Real Madrid saw Vinicius Jr down the Reds, and end the season on a low, but it didn’t take long for spirits to be picked back up as the Merseysiders held a trophy parade on Sunday.
Despite suffering Champions League final heartbreak less than 24 hours earlier, smiles returned to the faces of Liverpool’s players and staff as half a million fans turned out to celebrate an epic campaign.

Having lifted the FA Cup and League Cup and pushed Man City all the way in the Premier League, an estimated 500,000 supporters turned out to show their love for the team.

Fan with flares and banners lined the streets of Merseyside, offering their team the perfect pick-up, as glum expressions soon turned back into smiles.

Left back Andy Robertson was overwhelmed, and soon cheered up after a night where he also had to experience his friends getting caught up in the chaos outside the ground.

The Scot was seen partying with a cardboard cut-out of full-back partner Trent Alexander-Arnold, and explained why he was suddenly feeling better.

He said: “I woke up this morning in a terrible mood, everyone did, so disappointed with what happened last night.

“Obviously we were dreading the parade a bit, but when you get on this bus you realise the best fans in the world come out.

“It’s lifted the spirits for all of us, It’s given us a nice ending to a really tough season. We want to give them something back for their incredible support.”
