The Full-fibre broadband has arrived in Liverpool and the Wirral giving tens of thousands of residents and businesses access to some of the fastest broadband speeds in the country.
This particular service is made possible by Openreach’s, the UK’s largest phone and broadband network builder, multi-billion investment that aims to bring full fibre connections to more than four million premises by March 2021.
Liverpool and the Wirral are two of dozens of new locations where fibre-optic cables are currently being installed all the way from the local exchange to people’s front doors.
The scheme aims to meet the growing demand for more reliable broadband speeds. Every year, Openreach experiences a staggering 40per cent increase in the amount of data passing through its network. In homes all over the UK, people and families are reading their tablets, gaming online, streaming movies and music, checking social media, talking to their home assistants and chatting with friends on a daily basis.
Openreach network is being used by communications providers to offer customers faster speeds of up to 1Gbps, which is enough for a family of four to stream Ultra HD or 4K-quality films or TV at the same time.
