Southport is home to the only large outdoor model railway village in the UK, so is a great reason to visit and experience it.
Opened in 1996, it has maintained a loyal fanbase and is always attracting new enthusiasts, even young ones! Kids will love spending the day here and you are encouraged to stay as long as you like, benches and picnic areas are placed throughout so you can relax whilst the kids follow the trains around the 1.5 acre landscape.
Each model was designed and made on the site including the buildings, people and, of course, trains.
The site is designed for accessibility, making it easy to enter for wheelchairs and double buggies. There is also a Teashop and gardens with toilet facilities for the disabled.
The site is usually open from April until the start of November. However, some days the site may be closed because of bad weather so it is best to check the forecast before you go.
Opening Hours:
Closed until next season – open again on Monday 1st April 2015.
