National Museums Liverpool
Education in museums and galleries is something special. National Museums Liverpool displays real objects which can inspire and inform. They may be unique or ordinary, man-made or natural, works of art, or cultural icons. They can all be admired or studied somewhere within the National Curriculum. Many groups explore our galleries on their own. Others groups take part in learning sessions led by members of our education team. Mainly targeted at the National Curriculum, many are also suitable for other groups. They are available every weekday unless otherwise indicated, and there is no charge. NML can provide work-room, lunch-room or cloakroom facilities depending on which museum or gallery you are visiting. On the day, one of NML’s Visitor Hosts will meet you to help you get your visit under way. Over the years, NML staff have developed considerable knowledge about using its museums and galleries. Culture Liverpool
A department within Liverpool City Council, Culture Liverpool funds and delivers culture and events in the city and manages international relations.Its aim is to help Liverpool build on the success of ’08 by creating a dynamic programme that reflects the character and creativity of the city, placing citizens at its heart and inspiring all who participate and spectate.
The Bluecoat
The Bluecoat, Liverpool’s oldest city centre building, is home to a vibrant community of creative people and a contemporary programme of exhibitions, performances and events. The beautiful spaces, including a secret garden in the heart of the city, really capture the imagination of children and adults alike.
Everyman Theatre
The Everyman and Playhouse Theatres sit at the heart of Liverpool’s theatrical and cultural landscape. With a strong heritage and exciting future, the programme at the Everyman centres on new writing, emerging from an extraordinary new generation of playwriting talent in the city. At the Playhouse, the focus is on bold and innovative theatrical productions which bring inspiring scripts to vivid life.
FACT
FACT (Foundation for Art and Creative Technology) is the UK’s leading organisation for commissioning, exhibiting, promoting and supporting artists’ work and innovation in the field of film, video, and new media. It is the UK’s primary exponent of innovative digital media, and pioneers new forms of artistic and social interaction with emerging creativity. At FACT, individuals and communities can express themselves creatively. It works with international artists to develop exhibitions which increase public knowledge about new technologies. It creates new commissions with people living and working in Liverpool. FACT Programme is the artistic core of the organisation, commissioning projects by artists in film, video and new and emerging media forms and working with partner organisations.
Royal Liverpool Philharmonic
Royal Liverpool Philharmonic is the leading music organisation in Liverpool and the North West, comprising a world class symphony orchestra, major concert venues and extensive learning program. The Phil promotes over 250 events per year to audiences of over 250,000 people. The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, led by its award-winning Chief Conductor, Vasily Petrenko, presents concerts in Liverpool, across the UK and internationally. Its Learning & Engagement programme offers a range of inspirational opportunities to get involved in live music-making of the highest quality. Led by Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra musicians and its expert team of music leaders, programmes are designed to enhance the curriculum and support teaching and learning.
Tate Liverpool
Tate Liverpool is one of the largest galleries of modern and contemporary art outside London. Tate Liverpool presents displays of work from the Tate collection alongside special exhibitions of modern and contemporary art. The special exhibition programme, presented on the Gallery’s fourth floor, brings together works from national and international collections, both public and private.
