Tate Liverpool announced that it will reopen its Albert Dock gallery on Monday, July 27, with its postponed Don McCullin exhibition reprogrammed for September. All four Tate venues will again welcome visitors and reopen on the same date, with tickets for everyone even members to be booked online in advance.
On reopening, the Merseyside gallery will be revealing new work by Greek/British artist Mikhail Karikis, which is created with protest choir The Liverpool Socialist Singers.His audio-visual installation Ferocious Love reflecting on young people’s views of an environmentally not certain future. The choir has interpreted(make clear) the sound of wildfires, flooding and other extremes of weather, to be shown alongside video created with students from Birmingham School of Art.
Talks, performances, film screenings and workshops will be replaced with a new programme of online events for the duration of this year.
